Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the farm…
The kittens were napping, no cause for alarm,
Kona Snow was a-blooming, a winter delight,
Wrapping the coffee trees with blossoms of white.
Coffee bags were all hung by the roaster with care,
While candies and honeys added sweet Christmas flair,
Baristas were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of pour overs danced in their heads,
The farm shimmered brightly, all creatures at rest.
Even coffee trees rested, as did all the pests.
When on the slopes of the mountain, there arose a great din.
So great that we worried Pele threatened again…
I sprang from my bed, to the window I flew.
To survey the danger, and warn all our crew.
When what to un-caffeinated eyes should appear
But our seven farm cats with a sleigh and reindeer.
“My reindeer are tired,” boomed a resonant voice
Then Santa stepped forward “I haven’t a choice.”
“Good friends are all waiting, I must find a way
To deliver my gifts and to power my sleigh.”
So the cats rose as one and purred “We have a way.”
And together they ran to the tiny red sleigh
In a blink and a half, the sleigh launched into flight,
With Santa and presents, pulled by kittens this night.
The Jolly Old Elf in a kitten-drawn sleigh
Called into the night, as they all flew away.
On Umi, on Kingley, on Scraggles, and Bean
Go Leesi, Go Sammie, Go O, what a team.
And I heard them exclaim, as they flew out of sight
A sentiment all of us share on this night.
To our Heavenly ohana, to our friends far and near
Have a Meow-y Christmas and a Purr-fect New Year!
